• A Master's degree in physics is required, as well as a properly written thesis on an experimental topic. Priority will be given to applicants with SPM, cryogenic, and/or UHV experience.
• You have high proficiency in spoken and written English.
• You are expected to carry out experiments, both independently and in a team.
• You are expected to learn to communicate your results by writing manuscripts and giving presentations at international conferences.
• You will operate a UHV-SPM facility, and perform high-precision spectroscopic and magnetic measurements.

Fixed-term contract: Your performance will be evaluated after 18 months. If the evaluation is positive, the contract will be extended.

• Employment: 40 hours per week.
• The gross starting salary amounts to €2,395 per month, and will increase to €3,061 in the fourth year.
• The exact salary depends on the candidate's qualifications and amount of relevant professional experience.
• In addition to the salary: an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
• Duration of the contract: Your performance will be evaluated after 18 months. If the evaluation is positive, the contract will be extended.
• The intended start date is as soon as possible.
