What do we require
Job requirements
- Knowledge and experience on processing scientific data and willingness to further train yourself in this. You are familiar with metadata management, audit trails and data capture tools.
- Good understanding of practice of scientific research and how data and software underpin high-quality research.
- Knowledge of and experience with data processing tools and/or database.
- Research experience is desirable, for example via an academic study in science. You are familiar with data-driven research in an academic environment, including various kinds of qualitative and quantitative research, and combinations thereof.
- Active participation in networks of expertise and well-informed about current developments in RDM, FAIR and Open Science.
- Good People and communication skills are vital in this function: persuasion, network skills, communicative in both Dutch and English, curious, analytical and a team player.
- The coordinator ideally has at least 2 years of work experience as data manager or data steward in science research, in which you have learned how to draw up data management plans and executed these.

Fixed-term contract: 12 months.
Our offer
We offer a temporary employment contract for 32-38 hours per week for a period of 12 months. The preferred starting date is to be discussed. Based upon a positive assessment of the RDM pilot and the role of the data stewards therein and a positive personal evaluation, there may be an opportunity to extend the position and/or make it tenured.
The gross monthly salary, based on 38 hours per week and dependent on relevant experience, ranges between €2,846 to €4,490 (scale 10). Or scale 11 (€3,821 to €5,230) for the coordinating data steward. This does not include 8% holiday allowance and 8,3% year-end allowance. The UFO profile Data Steward is applicable. The Collective Labour Agreement of Universities of the Netherlands is applicable.
